ITINERARY

DAY 1: ARRIVE JOHANNESBURG / MAUN / OKAVANGO DELTA

Arrive into Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Intl Airport and after clearing immigrations, proceed to check in for your short flight to Maun, Botswana. On arrival, you will be escorted to your scheduled light-aircraft flight to your camp in the UNESCO-listed Okavango Delta where the mighty Okavango River flows and trickle into the Kalahari Desert creating the largest inland delta and one of the most beautiful and unique landscapes on Earth with areas of crystal clear lagoons and water channels; palm-fringed islands and lush grassland plains teeming with wildlife and birds under the vast skies. Enjoy your afternoon and evening activities of game drives, gliding around the waterways on your "mokoros" or motorized boats and nature walks.  

Overnight: Vumbura Plains Camp, Okavango Delta

DAY 2: OKAVANGO DELTA

You have a full day to enjoy your safari activities of game drives by day and night, mokoros or boat trips and nature walks.

DAY 4: OKAVANGO DELTA / KASANE / VICTORIA FALLS

This morning, hop onto your scheduled light-aircraft flight for your journey to Kasane Airport where you will connect onto another light-aircraft flight to Livingstone Airport in Zambia. On arrival, be met and transfer to your intimate camp, the Toka Leya Camp overlooking the mighty Zambezi River in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park

Overnight: Toka Leya Camp, Victoria Falls

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

DAY 5: VICTORIA FALLS

Enjoy a guided walking tour of the world famous Victoria Falls today. First described to Europe by explorer David Livingstone and known locally as Mosi-Oa-Tunya, or "the Smoke that Thunders", the falls make a constant roar and are accompanied by a cloud of brilliant spray where the mile wide Upper Zambezi falls 300 feet into the Lower Zambezi. Rainbows constantly form and collapse in the tropical sunlight over the waterfall. (A heritage fee is payable by guests directly at the lodge for the tour of the falls)

DAY 6: VICTORIA FALLS / CAPE TOWN 

Arrive into Cape Town Intl Airport, be met and transfer to your hotel for check in. Spend the rest of the evening at leisure. Recommended is a stroll on the atmospheric Victoria & Albert Waterfront - home to many restaurants, bars, shops, cafes and more.

DAY 7: CAPE TOWN

This morning, we begin a city tour of vibrant Cape Town. beginning with the centre of town. Visit sites such as Bo-Kaap on Signal Hill admiring the colourful houses learning its fascinating history of Cape Malay slaves during the 16th & 17th centuries. Continue down thereafter to the City Bowl - home to fascinating and eye-catching Cape Malay architecture. Visit a traditional spice shop to learn about aromatic spices prevalent in local "Rainbow Cuisine" before time for lunch (on own expenses). We then continue to the foot of Table Mountain, ascending by cable car to the summit to enjoy panoramic views of Cape Town catching a glimpse of the Atlantic Coast. Finally, spend the rest of the day at leisure wandering the atmospheric Victoria & Albert Waterfront

DAY 8: CAPE TOWN (CAPE PENINSULA EXCURSION)

After breakfast, embark on a full day excursion to the Cape Peninsula. We head south to Hout Bay, a coastal neighbourhood and fishing village where we take a boat ride to visit nearby Duiker Island to see its colony of Cape Fur Seals. Continue via Chapmans Peak to the southernmost edge to reach Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve where you have time to explore the jagged coast and admire the spectacular scenery. We then visit Simon's Town and head to Boulder's Beach to see the town's cute colony of African Penguins. Return to Cape Town thereafter where we stop to admire the stunning grounds of the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

DAY 9: DEPART CAPE TOWN

This morning, be met and transfer to Cape Town Intl Airport for your onward journey.

HOTELS

A retreat of contemporary and unique design, Vumbura Plains comprises two separate satelite camps, consisting of 14 rooms overall. Each camp has its own sumptuous raised lounge, dining and bar area with magnificent vistas across the Okavango Delta, while a deck with comfortable cushions protrudes into the floodplain. Each large luxurious room is raised off the ground with indoor and outdoor showers and en-suite bathroom.

Overlooking the mighty Zambezi River and some of its islands, Toka Leya Camp is situated in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Twelve spacious en-suite safari-style tents with expansive decks soak up the dramatic views and active wildlife. Wooden walkways snake between the units and main area, limiting our footprints on this pristine area.

Surrounded on three sides by water, Cape Grace has its own private quay on the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. It's an ideal location, with the waterfront's shopping and restaurants just steps from the door. Sophisticated and infused with local charm, each of the guest rooms has a distinct decor, featuring antiques, hand-painted fabrics, and thoughtfully chosen African artifacts.
