ITINERARY

DAY 1: ADELAIDE / PORT LINCOLN / KANGALUNA CAMP

Depart for Adelaide Airport for a short flight to Port Lincoln where on arrival, you will be met. First, we visit a colony of wild koalas at Mikkira Station near Port Lincoln before travelling through farming land to Wudinna, a population of 600 and stopping for lunch along the way. Thereafter, we pass the Wudinna Rock as we travel into the outback to Kangaluna Camp. After some rest, we begin the afternoon tour to begin our wildlife experience, the outback animals thrive in this environment. Expect to see three species of kangaroos as well as emus and many birds before returning to Kangaluna Camp after sunset drinks at Kolay Mirica Rocks - a unique "organ pipe" formation.

DAY 2: KANGALUNA CAMP (LAKE GAIRDNER & GAWLER RANGES WILDLIFE)

An inspiring day begins as we make a drive to Lake Gairdner - Australia's fourth-largest salt lake embellished by glistening white salt and stretching over 160km in length and 48km wide, creating one of Australia's most bizarre natural spectacle that is set against the red rocks landscape and a photographer's dream. Enjoy a walk and spend time documenting the amazing bird life as well as kangaroos and emus.

DAY 3: KANGALUNA CAMP / PORT AUGUSTA / ARKABA STATION

We leave the Kangaluna Camp today and continue our drive to Port Augusta where you will be met by the team at Arkaba Station and transfer to the former sheep station in the heart of the spell-binding Flinders Ranges spread out over 60,000 acres of outback farmland. Enjoy the surroundings and be orientated by your hosts and savour dinner tonight in a bewitching setting.

DAY 4: ARKABA STATION (LAKE EYRE & THE REMOTE OUTBACKS)

A spectacular day where we embark on a small aircraft for a full day experience of Lake Eyre and the remote outbacks of the Flinders Ranges taking in a visually-spectacular day of epic geological experience such as the surreal salt lake of Lake Torrens and the spell-binding Lake Eyre, the lowest natural point in Australia and in the dry season as water evaporates and salt dissolves, saturation point is reached when water depth is around 50cm exposing a pink hue due to the presence of pink algae. 

Overnight: Arkaba Station

DAY 5: ARKABA STATION

Enjoy another day of amazing experiences where we will hop onto a scenic flight experience over the breath-taking Wilpena Pound, shaped like nature's very own creation of an "amphitheatre" covering an area of almost 8,000 hectares. Experience an experiential 4WD drive to discover the land of the early aboriginals and a landscape that takes you back hundreds of millions of years while enjoying the opportunity to spot interesting wildlife.

DAY 6: ARKABA STATION / PORT AUGUSTA / ADELAIDE

Our journey ends with a private transfer to Port Augusta Airport where you board your flight to Adelaide for your onward journey or consider an extension to Kangaroo Island or the exceptional wine-growing regions of Barossa Valley or McLaren Vale.
